Israel’s occupation of Gaza, Lebanon, Syria extends beyond what maps show

A Digital Investigations Team at Al Jazeera's Open Source Unit found that Israeli military control extends across approximately 1,000 square kilometers in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, often exceeding the boundaries officially declared on ceasefire maps. The investigation used satellite imagery, official military maps, and geographic analysis to track the "Yellow Line" in Gaza, declared military zones in southern Lebanon, and military outposts in southern Syria, revealing discrepancies between officially announced borders and actual on-ground military positions. The findings show that Israeli military presence since October 7, 2023, has expanded beyond what formal agreements and official statements indicate.
