UK's uptake of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is projected to miss the initial 2025 target due to a 20% shortfall in required volumes. According to provisional data released by the Department for Transport, SAF made up just 1.6% of total fuel supplies for UK flights during the first year of the government's mandate, falling short of the targeted 2%. This comes despite an increase in demand for cleaner alternatives amid growing concerns over climate change.
