We can do better than today's social platforms

I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, I think social platforms are terrible and we should avoid them at all costs (having been an avid user over a decade ago). And on the other hand, I feel they are a useful utility yet massively exploitive and addictive in a way that we have to do something about it.
I don't think you can fix X. I don't think you can fix Instagram. I don't think you can fix Threads. Or Even Mastodon. They are what they. But the value system is born of whoever created them or owns them.
I think we can do better. There's a possibility that building a system based on Islamic values is going to be more beneficial for a wider audience. And I mean beneficial in the way that's not gamifying their actions or making it addictive and engaging to profit off them. I mean truly beneficial. Increasing knowledge. Increasing human connection. And not in the way that Facebook tries to do with accumulating friends. Something where each connection is truly two ways. The follow model is broken. In fact, it's the path to hell. We need to build a community that's actually a community. Nothing will replace real world connection. But if we're going to have technology then it should benefit us. And help us help. Those are who are in need.
