Public profiles

I was thinking a lot about public profiles. It’s a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it feels like we should live our lives a lot more privately, on the other hand, having a public profile can be useful to share thoughts, ideas, apps, etc.

Every social platform seems to have a public profile. The places that don’t have them, it’s hard to gauge the credibility of the people you’re talking to. Okay, the merit of what people say should stand on the words they write but at the same time people hide behind that.

I’m not saying everyone should have a public persona but it can be helpful as a summary or an overview of someone’s work or just how they present themselves or a way to share without needing a website.

In the real world you gauge that by a person’s appearance or what they say. I guess you still need that online.
