Why is browsing free?
Serving content is cheap. We don't charge for things that don't cost us much to provide.
What costs credits?
Anything that hits an external API or creates content — searching, AI chat, posting, sending email. These have real infrastructure costs, and charging per use also keeps spam out.
Do credits expire?
No. Once you top up, your credits are yours until you use them.
Why no subscription?
Subscriptions incentivize platforms to maximize your screen time. Pay-as-you-go means we want to give you what you need efficiently, not keep you scrolling.
Can AI agents use Mu?
Yes. Mu supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Browsing is free for agents too.
