Name of Allah: As Samee’ - السَّمِيعُ - The Hearer of all

The name As Samee’ emphasizes Allah’s attribute of complete awareness and understanding of all sounds and voices. This attribute assures believers that their prayers, thoughts, and cries for help are heard, providing comfort and hope. The origin of this name comes from the Arabic root ‘سمع’ (sama’), which means ‘to hear’. This name reflects Allah’s omnipresence and is often invoked in prayers and supplications.

Verse: Ghafir - The Forgiver - 40:63

This is how those who used to reject Allah’s signs were ˹also˺ deluded.

Hadith: Manumission of Slaves - Narrated Hisham:

My father told me that Hakim bin Hizam manumitted one-hundred slaves in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance and slaughtered one-hundred camels (and distributed them in charity). When he embraced Islam he again slaughtered one-hundred camels and manumitted one-hundred slaves. Hakim said, “I asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), ‘O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! What do you think about some good deeds I used to practice in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance regarding them as deeds of righteousness?’ Allah’s Apostle said, “You have embraced Islam along with all those good deeds you did.”
