LA28 Epstein fallout: City Council urges Wasserman investigation

UK · Micro · 18 hours ago

Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to urge an investigation into Casey Wasserman, chairman of LA28 Olympics organizing committee, over his documented connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Court filings revealed Wasserman flew on Epstein’s private jet and exchanged flirtatious emails with Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003, though he has not been accused of criminal activity and expressed regret over the association.

Wasserman, a sports and entertainment executive who has led LA28 since its inception, survived an earlier independent review by the Olympic committee’s executive board, which concluded his relationship with Epstein didn’t extend beyond publicly documented interactions. The City Council’s resolution calls for ensuring Olympic leadership reflects “integrity, accountability, and respect for all people,” though the council operates independently from LA28 and cannot directly remove Wasserman from his position leading the 2028 Olympics preparation.
